Fear

Fear
                “Fear nothing but fear itself.”
What is fear? What if our biggest fear is ourselves?
As a nation we are afraid of growth. As a group we are afraid of equality. As individuals we are afraid of life. It’s amazing how we fear so much, but claim we are inferior to nothing. We claim we are superior over fear and life itself.
How can we be so oblivious to the fact that we hinder ourselves and minimize the effort we put forward to get rid of our fears? Our meaning everyone; every man, every woman, every child.
To us, life is our biggest fear. Most of us learn at the age of 8 the real meaning of life…we grow up too fast. Others aren’t exposed to life until they are nearly 40 and wondering ‘What am I going to do with my life?’…we grow up too slow. A fear! Most mothers and fathers have a fear of sending their children out into the world not thinking they’re ready. Well mother and father, I have only one thing to say to that, ‘Big Mistake!’ You see, a hindrance in growth doesn’t expose them to the real world. It sets back the ability for them to get over their fear of real life situations. Without being exposed to the real world, the purpose of being here (on this earth) is unknown until they finally can find what God has placed them on this Earth to do. Until then life is a fear because what they have learned and what they will face are two different things.
As a group of people we are afraid of equality. We are afraid of our fellow brethren coming together and finding peace with ones mind, race, origin, etc. We are afraid our fellow sisters will find love in congregating with her neighbors, seeking comfort and knowledge from those around her. As a group of people we are afraid of unison. We are not satisfied until we tear down each other. April of 2016 and there are still racial battles faced across this nation. It is a shame, a disgrace; we cannot find peace and love in each others eyes. It’s a shame; when someone doesn’t respect another’s race or culture. If everyone let go of this fear of equality and someone or something being superior over someone, then we would be able to accept equality for what it is…unison of a nation; a world; God’s Kingdom. It saddens me to see such hatred in this world, so much jealousy, no respect for others and their property. The ignorance level continues to rise. Being afraid of equality hinders our ability to have a positive future; a positive generation to follow.
Being afraid of life, growth, and equality will probably never change. Fear makes us…US! It makes the nation; it shapes its people, and creates its new found land when conquered. We all fail to realize, fear is only apart of our imagination, and we control what gets the best of us.

Dear Past, Present, & Future Generations
It’s amazing how our ancestors fought so hard to form a nation full of equality and peace and we have still maintained to tear down and destroy what they have set forth for us to follow. Race is not a factor, but the content of our character defines us as an individual.
How is it we find pleasure in calling our fellow brothers and sisters words our ancestors were beaten with verbally?
Why is it we use violence to solve our problems instead of peaceful protests?
Why are we afraid? How is it we are so afraid of ourselves and the power we posses within, we will kill and rob others in fear of mounting to greatness?
Why have we thrown away all knowledge and turned to ignorance as a way to live life?
We have become lazy! “We” refers to you and I, my friend. We have laid down established ways of living to be seen “superior”, well there’s a difference between being “superior” and ignorant.  We are not connected with our roots. We are tied and bound to materialistic things.
When have we sat down and prayed for our nation’s people instead of prey on our people? When was the last time we applauded and encouraged our brother and sister, instead of beat and ridicule them?
We are hypocrites! We judge others for doing wrong, when we have also made that mistake. We expect jobs, money, and none the less an easy life to be handed to us instead of moving forward in making plans to make them happen. Buying every name brand shoe doesn’t define you. Having the best materialistic products in this world only showcases one thing…more time is used in putting money and thought into the next outfit or shoe and less time is being used to inform ourselves in politics and who plans on benefiting this country in the future. We don’t come to church and seek God like we should. We don’t ask God for forgiveness, but continue to dwell in wrong doing; we let race and ones preference determine how we treat them, failing to understand that God is the only person who can judge His children. If we continue down this path, our days will be numbered even less as ignorant, countless acts continue.
Among this group, I see the highest potential. I see the next president, doctors, lawyers, teachers, preachers, and ministry participants. There is greatness in the air and in our hearts. We are so close. The first step is turning directions in the path of righteousness. Trust me it is far from easy, but the best rewards are the ones that are not easy to accomplish because you appreciate your hard work even more.
